Ha Lam graduated from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore with a Bachelor of Science (Biological Science) funded by Temasek Foundation. She then continued her journey to learn how to create new knowledge and produce good scientific work with a PhD study in the National University of Singapore (NUS) Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine funded by the President Graduate Fellowship. During her PhD candidature, she is part of the Ensemble of Multi-disciplinary Systems and Integrated Omics for NAFLD (EMULSION), where her research focuses on developing therapeutic targets for Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Diseases (NAFLD).

In the early days of her PhD, Ha was exposed to the innovation and commercialization culture through curriculum at NUS and immediate research environment at Genome Institute of Singapore (GIS). These experiences help her develop keen interest in exploring how science and business can work together to bring creative products for better life,  to generate growth for the economy and to ignite hope for mankind. Joining BCS as a communications lead, Ha hopes to bring the bench and the market closer together through insightful articles and other activities in various related topics. Outside work, Ha enjoys swimming, solving puzzles, watching and creating short films and theatre performances.
