Debleena RAY

Debleena graduated from the University of Leicester, UK with an MSc in Molecular Genetics and
earned a PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Birmingham, UK. She is currently a Senior
Research Fellow in Duke-NUS Medical School (Cancer and Stem Cell Biology) where she is building a
line of research to better understand the role of RNA processing in cancer and to translate these
understandings to clinical advances. She believes great science leads to great innovation that impacts
lives. She has a keen interest in the latest development in biotech in Singapore that is poised to meet
unmet clinical needs. Through her position as an ambassador in BCS she wants to reach out to the
greater community of biotech enthusiasts that includes scientists from academia and industry,
entrepreneurs and policy makers. When Debleena is not decoding RNA processing in cancer or
advocating biotechnology, she is a loving mother to a toddler, a passionate foodie and an avid traveler.
