Brendan received his Bachelor of Engineering (Bioengineering) from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. His interest in developing and translating biology-based technological innovations spurred him to join the Defence Medical and Environmental Research Institute in DSO National Laboratories, as a Member of Technical Staff. To gain technical depth, Brendan is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in the National University of Singapore (NUS) Graduate School for Integrative Sciences and Engineering. He is part of the NUS Synthetic Biology for Clinical and Technological Innovation Programme, where his research involves the engineering of probiotics for therapeutic applications. He feels strongly about giving a voice to researchers, industry professionals and bio-entrepreneurs working on interdisciplinary areas in biotech and medtech, so that they can share their experiences in translating and commercialising their work. In his free time, Brendan enjoys traveling, gaming and reading.
