Experts Say Endocrine-Disrupting Chemicals Exposure Pose Global Health Threat & Costs > €150 billion annually


Human exposure to EDCs contributes to numerous health conditions that its estimated costs lies between €150-260 billion per year (1.2-2.0% of Gross Domestic Product), according to a new series of studies published in the Endocrine Society’s Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism. The amount represents the costs of health care expenses, lost productivity and lost earning potentials, the scientists behind the research say. Over the past few years, many research studies have been done on EDCs, its identification, its impact on human health, and the cost burden on the society.
